Does this sound familiar?

  • Do you mind getting up? The vodka is in the cooler under your seat.

  • Let me go into the cabin to get the cups.

  • Sorry to bother you again, but I need to get back in that cooler for ice.

  • Damn, the lemons got a little soggy in the bag, I had to pre-slice them at home.

  • Ok finally, let me pour your drink… Do you mind holding the cup so I can pour it?

The Quest

This was a typical day on our boat—fetching this and that every time someone needed a refill.  We felt like we were constantly serving all day instead of just simply pouring a drink and relaxing.

On a quest to find “a better way”, we decided what we needed was a little bar/beverage station.  Ok, so we figured out what we needed, but where was it going to go on the boat?  How was it going to be accessible without it getting in our way?  The wheels started turning and we quickly “engineered” a bar out of acrylic and metal with a post that fits into the fishing rod holder.  And so, the first Nauti Bar was born.  It was cute and we were proud, but like many prototypes, it had its issues.  The black acrylic and metal heated up very quickly in the hot summer sun, the fixed post on the bottom didn’t allow for it to sit straight, the cup and bottle holders weren’t exactly the right size.  Well, sometimes you must fail in order to succeed.  Back to the drawing board we went, this time armed with better innovation and experience.  Materials were changed. The design was better engineered.  The mount was completely reimagined for adjustability.  And there you have it, The Nauti Bar reemerged better than ever!

We stock our Nauti Bar with refreshments for a day of enjoyment.  We no longer ask friends to move their seats to get in the cooler.   Our ice stays cold in the ice bucket.  Our garnishes are freshly sliced on the cutting board.  The cup holders allow us to have a free hand for pouring.  Napkins are always handy.  No more bending, stretching and jerking things around the cabin.

We hope that The Nauti Bar provides you with the ease and convenience that we longed for on our boat.

Cheers!  Here’s to smooth sailing!
